Outdoor Living Concrete for Oshawa Yards

Outdoor living is where concrete does the most work, an outdoor kitchen counter, a fire-pit pad, a pool deck, all poured to handle weather, traffic and a Ontario winter. We design and pour the hard surfaces that tie a backyard together, finished to match the patio and the house, and every project starts with a free written estimate.

One connected yard

Concrete That Ties the Backyard Together

Outdoor living works best when the hard surfaces are planned as one project. A pour that stops abruptly, a deck that does not match the patio, a counter poured separately from the pad it sits on, those seams are what make a yard feel pieced together.

We design the concrete as a system: the outdoor kitchen counter, the fire-pit pad, the pool deck, all finished and coloured to read together and to match the patio they extend.

Every surface still gets the freeze-thaw fundamentals: a compacted base, an air-entrained mix, deliberate drainage and control joints on layout. It is what keeps a high-value backyard from cracking apart its first winter, and it carries into the rest of the residential concrete on the property.

How it works

How We Build an Outdoor Living Space in Oshawa

  1. Design the yard as one plan

We map the kitchen, fire pit, deck and pathways as one connected plan, with finishes and colours chosen to read together.

  2. Excavate every surface

Each surface is excavated and built on a compacted granular base with drainage planned away from the house and the pool.

  3. Pour the decks and counters

We pour the pads, decks and counters, finishing them stamped, exposed or coloured so the whole yard matches.

  4. Seal and hand off the space

Surfaces are jointed, cured and sealed against weather, then we walk the finished space with you and the care schedule.

What we pour

The Pieces of an Outdoor Living Yard

Most outdoor living projects combine a few elements. An outdoor kitchen needs a solid, level concrete counter and pad; a fire pit or fire table wants a proper non-combustible pad sized to the seating around it.

A pool deck takes the most abuse, wet feet, sun, chlorine and freeze-thaw, so it gets a slip-resistant finish and careful drainage. When an existing deck is sound but tired, pool deck resurfacing brings it back without a tear-out.

Common questions

Outdoor Living Concrete Questions, Answered

Designing, pouring and caring for outdoor kitchens, fire pits and pool decks in Oshawa.

We pour the hard surfaces of a backyard, outdoor kitchen counters and pads, fire-pit pads, and pool decks, plus resurfacing for decks that are sound but dated.
It usually should. Designing the kitchen, fire pit, deck and pathways as one plan means the finishes, colours and elevations match and there are no awkward seams between separate pours added over different years.
Not when it is finished for the job. We use broom, exposed-aggregate or textured finishes that stay slip-resistant wet, and we plan drainage so water runs off the deck instead of pooling.
Yes. A properly built concrete pad is non-combustible and the right base for a fire pit or fire table. We size the pad to the seating area and build it on a compacted base like any other slab.
If the deck is structurally sound, resurfacing lays a fresh, slip-resistant finish over it for far less than a tear-out. We confirm the slab is sound on the free estimate first.

★★★★★

Did the outdoor kitchen counter, a fire-pit pad and the surrounding patio as one project. Everything matches because they planned it together from the start.

Pool deck drains exactly the way they promised and it is not slippery underfoot. Survived its first winter with no cracking or lifting.

Resurfaced our old pool deck rather than ripping it out. New finish, slip-resistant, and it cost a fraction of what a replacement would have.

The fire-table pad is sized perfectly for our seating and the colour ties into the patio. They thought about the whole yard, not just the one piece.
